The Centre for Media, Technology, and Democracy is launching Gen(Z)AI, a youth citizens’ assembly on AI.
From Fall 2025 to Spring 2026, 100 Canadians aged 17–23 will meet to deliberate on AI issues, engage with experts, and develop consensus-based policy recommendations. Outcomes will be shared with thousands of youth for feedback and compiled into a national report for policymakers, regulators, and civil society leaders.
This initiative offers young Canadians the chance to strengthen critical thinking, gain policymaking experience, and collaborate with peers nationwide.
Applications are open Oct 1–17, 2025. Click here for more information.
This project is being carried out in partnership with Mila – Quebec AI Institute and the Dialogue on Technology Project at Simon Fraser University.
