Athabasca University: Introduction to Nursing Informatics
Nursing (NURS) 322 is offered online through Canada's Open University via distance education. NURS 322 is designed to introduce applications of informatics systems to nursing practice, education, research, and administration. Hardware, software, databases, communications applications, computer developments and associated legal and ethical issues are addressed. Students learn how nurses can assess, develop and use nursing information systems to work more efficiently, allocate resources more effectively, and improve client care. British Columbia Institute of Technology, School of Health Sciences
Health Information Systems Technology Management Program. Offered online, degree courses. Content areas include health informatics, health information systems, and telehealth. Some course credits are transferable to the BCIT/UBC Masters in Health Administration program.

Centennial College
This Ontario-based program offers a Certificate Program in Nursing Telepractice. Designed for nurses currently working in acute care or community settings. It assists nurses with developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for nursing telepractice.

Dalhousie University

University of Victoria, School of Health Information Science
The School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria offers the only comprehensive undergraduate and graduate health informatics education programs in Canada. The BSc in health informatics is a 4-year undergraduate degree with 3 co-op work terms. The MSc has a full-time on-campus stream and a part-time distributed (online) stream. The PhD program is by special arrangement.

The School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria has recently launched a new part-time distributed Master degree program (online). This is a 2-year program where students engage in online course work each term and a 2-week intensive face-to-face workshop in Victoria each summer. The program has 3 intakes each year in January, May and September, and is ideal for working professionals who wish to specialize in health informatics without having to leave their workplace. Saint Louis University Masters with Nursing Informatics Specialty
The master's degree programs offer flexible, part-or full-time curriculum plans specifically designed for working RNs. The master’s specialty in Nursing Informatics prepares nurses for the role of informatics nurse specialist. The informatics nurse specialist practices within the full range of activities that focus on nursing/clinical information systems and information handling.
